The amount spent on the purchase of land = Rs. 48000

Let the total money be x

Money spent on purchase of land = 30x /100 = 0.3 x

Money left after purchasing land

= 0.7x

Money spent on house repair = (40/100 ) × 0.7x

= 0.28x

Money left after house repairs = 0.42x

Money received by his two daughters , wife each = 22400

=> 1/3 × 0.42x= 22400

=> x = Rs. 160000

Total money with the man = Rs. 160000

Money spent on land = 0.3x

= Rs. 48000
