so, 7x + 3y = 564............(1)

total no of pen and pencil is 108

so, x+y = 108
y = 108 - x........(2)

substitute y in (1)
7x + 3(108 - x) = 564
7x + 324 - 3x = 564
4x = 564 - 324
4x = 240
x = 240/4
x = 60

substitute in (2)
y = 108 - 60
y = 48

so, no of pen is 60 and no of pencil is 48
