Solution :

Let, the money he had at the beginning be x.

It is Given that,

He spent 1/3 for clothes = 1/3 × x

So,

Remaining money = 2/3 × x

It is Given that,

He spent 1/5 of remaining money for food,

So,

1/5 × 2x/3 = 2x/15

Now,

Remaining money = 2x/3 - 2x/15 = 10x - 3x/15 = 8x/15.

It is Given that,

Again, he spent 1/4 of remaining money for travel,

So, 1/4 × 8x/15 = 8x/60

= 4x/30

= 2x/15

Now,

Remaining Money = 8x/15 - 2x/15

= 6x/15

But after spending for travel ge is left with Rs. 100

So,

➮ 6x/15 = 100

➮ 6x = 15 × 100

➮ 6x = 1500

➮ x = 1500/6

➮ x = 250.

Therefore, Rs. 250 he have at the beginning.

Hence,

Option a). Rs. 250 is the correct option.
