Third beat will be produced after 1 second

Fifth beat will be produced after 2 seconds

Distance travelled by sound in 1 second = 360 m

Which is twice the distance of the person from the first cliff

Therefore, distance between the person and first cliff = 360/2 = 180 m

Similarly,

Distance travelled by sound in 2 seconds = 360 × 2 m

Therefore, distance between the person and second cliff = 360 × 2/2 = 360 m

Thus, distance between the cliffs = 180 + 360 = 540 m
