Given:

A person standing next to a current carrying wire which lies horizontally such that he is pointing in the direction in which current is flowing .

To find:

Direction of magnetic field on his right side ?

Solution:

  • In this type of questions , it is best to apply RIGHT HAND THUMB RULE.

  • In this rule , place your thumb along the direction of current and then curl your other fingers on the side you want to find the Magnetic Field.

Similarly , here place your thumb along the direction of current in the wire. Then curl your other fingers on the right. Refer to the diagram for easy understanding.

You will see that the magnetic field on right side is directed downwards.

\boxed{\bold{DIRECTED\: DOWNWARDS\:\:\:Option- a)}}

\star Hope It Helps.
