A person starts a job with some fixed salary and yearly increment.

After 4 years his salary is Rs.15000 and after 10 years it becomes Rs.

18000. Then find his monthly salary and increment.

Answer....

Let the starting salary of the person ne x

Let the fixed incriment be y

According to first condition,
x+4y=15000

According to second condition,
x+10y=18000

Substracting equation 2 by 1
we get,
6y=3000
y=500

putting y=500 in equation 1
x+4y=15000
x+4×500=15000
x+15000-2000
x=15000-2000
x=13000

Hence,Hence the starting salary was Rs. 13000 and annual increment is Rs. 500
