Given: A person starts from point A at 6.00 am. He reaches points B, C, and D at 6.30 am, 7.00 am and 8.00 am respectively. He takes 2 hours to return to point A.

To find: Average speed of that person

Solution:

Speed = Distance / Time

Average Speed = Total distance covered / total time taken

As distance is not mentioned, let us assume distance, d = x km

then, Average speed = x / (2 + 2)  ( 2 hours from A to D and 2 hours from D to A)

         Average Speed = x / 4 kmph.
