Because HIV or AIDS virus kills or supresses our immune system by killing T - cells in our body. If there are no T - cells our immune system becomes extremely weak and so our body is not able to fight with minor infections due to lack of immune system.

An AIDS(Accuired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) patient is not able to fight with even a small infection, because while suffering from AIDS the immune system of the patient becomes week, hence her/his immunity is weak, so the body is not able to fight with that infection and the disease enters the body easily.
