of 40 along a straight line, then he travelled 30m in right side. so, the ratio of total distance to displacement is

Explanation:

  1. Total distance(30+40=70)
  2. In the case of displacement firt he go straight 40m then on right side 30m therefore,we calculate this by Pythagoras theorem ,so square of 40 is 1600 and of 30 is 900 and their sum is 2500 so the square root of this is 50 ,hence displacement is 50 m.
  3. So the ratio of distance and displacement is 70:50 or 7:5.
