let the distance he travelled on foot be 'x km '

Given, total distance = 3.5 km

by bycycle:
---------------

distance travelled by bicycle = 5/ 3 km

on scooter:
---------------

distance travelled on scooter = 5/ 3 km

according to the given statement :

total distance travelled by him = 3.5km

(5/ 3) + (5/ 3) + x = 3.5

solve for 'x' :
-----------------

( 5/3 + 5/3 ) + x = 3.5

(10 / 3 ) + x = 35/ 10

x = (35/ 10 ) - ( 10/ 3 )

x =( 105 - 100) / 30

x = 5 / 30 = 1 / 6 km

therefore, the distance travelled by him on foot = 1 / 6 km

Answer : option (b) 1/ 6 km

Total distance travelled by the person is 3.5km = \frac{35}{10} km

From the total distance,
He travelled \frac{5}{3} km by bicycle.

\frac{5}{3} km by scooter and rest by foot.

Let,
the distance travelled by foot be x km.

So,
distance travelled ( by bicycle + by scooter + by foot ) = Total distance travelled.

 = > \frac{5}{3} km + \frac{5}{3} km + x = \frac{35}{10} km \\ \\ = > \frac{10}{3} km + x = \frac{35}{10} km \\ \\ = > x = ( \frac{35}{10} - \frac{10}{3} )km \\ \\ = > x = ( \frac{105 - 100}{30} )km \\ \\ = > x = \frac{5}{30} km \\ \\ = > x = \frac{1}{6} km

Hence,
the distance travelled by foot (x km) is \frac{1}{6}km.

Therefore,
option (b) \frac{1}{6}km is correct.
