We know that

Distance = Speed ÷ Time

Thus, we can also say that

Time taken = Distance ÷ Speed

In the given question, the value for distance has been given as 5 1/16 km and the speed is given as 1 1/8 km/h.

In order to make their division easier, we covert them to mixed fractions:

5 1/16 km can be written as 81/16 km

Also, 1 1/8 km/h can be written as 9/8 km/h.

Now, by putting these values in the equation we derived for time:

Time taken = 81/16 km ÷ 9/8 km/h

= 9/2, or 4.5 hours.
