A person walks 3 km towards North, then turns right and walks 4 km. Find his displacement; both magnitude and direction !and total distance he travelled?

total distance travelled by him = 3+4

                                               = 7 km

displacement means the shortest distance between the initial point and the final pint.

In this case ,

Displacement = √3²+4²

                      = √9+16

                      = √25

                      = 5 km

the directin is in North - East direction.
