a person walks along the sides of a square field.Each side is 100 metres long.what is the maximum magnitude of displacement of the person in any time interval?

the maximum magnitude of displacement will be the opposite vertice from the vertice frm where he started....
i.e. the diagonal of the square area...
perimeter=4×100=400sq.m
diagonal=side√2=100√2m=100×1.414=141.4m


therefore the required answer is 141.4m
