A person walks along the sides of a square field. Each side is 10m long. What is the maximum magnitude of displacement of the person in any time interval?

Maximum displacement will be when person to diagonally opposite point from any vertex.

length of diagonal of square of side 'a' = \sqrt{2}a

here a = 10m

max. displacement = \sqrt{2} × 10 ≅ 14.14
