Given :- The speed of travel from point A to Point B is 10 km/hr. The average speed of the entire trip ( A->B->A) is 20km/hr.
To Find :- what is the return speed from B to A. ?
Formula used :-
- Average speed = (2xy)/(x + y) where x km/h is the speed from A to B and y km/h is the speed from B to A .
Solution :-
Let us assume that, the return speed from B to A is x km/h .
So,
→ Speed going from A to B = y = 10 km/h
→ Speed returning from B to A = x km/h
→ Average speed = 20 km/h .
then,
→ Average speed = (2xy)/(x + y)
→ 20 = (2 * x * 10)/(x + 10)
→ (x + 10) = x
since x will be cancel from both sides . given question is incorrect . Please check given values once .
