solution

we consider here cost price of scooter = x

if scooter sell at loss 25% than SP will be

SP = x - 25% of x   ...............1

SP = x - 0.25 x

SP = 0.75 x    .................2

and

when sell at loss 20% than SP

SP = x - 20% of x

SP = x - 0.20 x

SP = 0.80 x   ....................3

and we have given difference is ₹4000

so

0.80 x - 0.75 x = ₹4000

0.05 x =  ₹4000  

x = $\frac{4000}{0.05}$

x = 80000

so cost price of scooter is  ₹80000
