A person wants to make three lengths out of a 91 cm long board. The second length is 3 cm more than the shortest length and the third length is twice its length. Find the possible length of that shortest board if the third piece is at least 5 cm more than the second.

Tota length = 91 cm

Let shortest length = a cm

Second length = a + 3 cm

Third length = 2a cm

Sum of length of boards ≤ 91 cm

a + (a + 3) + 2a ≤ 91

4a + 3 ≤ 91

4a ≤ 88

a ≤ 22 cm

Also third length =( a + 3) + 5 cm

2a ≥ ( a+3) + 5

2a≥ a + 8

a ≥ 8 cm

So, 8 ≤ a ≤ 22
