A person was climbing on a building. He slips 1m for every 5m he climbs up. If the building is 53m high and he takes 5 seconds to climb 1m what will be the total time taken..? Give step by step solution..

start at 0,

from 0 to 5 but slips 1 m down finally a person will be at 4 m

so, 1 m = 5 secs.

     5 m = 25 secs

  sips for 1 m = 1 secs

to complete  for 4 m = 5 + 1 = 6 secs

             for  8 m  = 12 secs,  12 m = 18 secs,  16 m = 24 secs,

     20 m = 30 secs,  24 m = 36 secs, .... if he continues like  this

at 48 m = 36 + 36 = 72 secs.

rem. next steps will jump for 5 m

i.e., 48 + 5 = 72 + 5

    53 m = 77 secs
