A person was drawing a monthly salary of Rs.25000 in the 11th year of service and a salary of Rs.29000 in the 19th year. Given that pension is half the salary at retirement time, find his monthly pension if he had put in 25 years of service befpre retirement. Assume that annual increment is constant.(Arithmetic Progression)

As you can see , Increment in (19-11) i.e 8years is (29000-25000) i.e Rs4000.
That means , Increment in each year = Rs 4000/8 = Rs 500
Now, No. of years from 19th to 25th year = 6.
Total increment will be 500*6 = Rs 3000.
Salary at the time of retirement = Rs 29000 + 3000= Rs 32000.
Thus, Monthly pension = Rs (32000/2)= Rs 16000.
