Answer:

Let the initial salary be ₹ 100.

On getting an increment of 25 %,

New salary = 100 + 25 % of 100

On solving we get,

New salary = ₹ 125

On getting a second increme of 30 %,

Latest salary = 125 + 30 % of 125

Latest salary = 125 + 37.50

On simplifying we get,

Latest salary = ₹ 162.50

Now,

Overall increment in the salary = Latest salary - Initial salary = ₹ 162.50 - ₹ 100 = 62.50

Now,

Percentage increment in salary = ( 62.50 / 100 ) * 100 = 62.5 %

Your required answer will be 62.5 %.
