A person was walking around a circular park of radius 2m.
a) How much distance he walks if he starts from one point round the park and stops exactly diagonally on the opposite point?
b) How much displacement he covers in this portion?

Answer:
a)44/7 = 6.28m
b)4m
c)displacement
Explanation:
a) When he stops exactly diagonally on the opposite point ,then he covers half cirlcle of circular track.
Circumference of circular track =
then , circumference of track is = 2× 22/7 × 2
circumference of half circle = 1/2× 2×22/7×2 = 44/7 = 6.28.
b) The shortest distance b/w two points is its displacement. so, shortest distance b/w these two points is its diameter = 2r = 2×2 = 4m.
c) displacement has direction because it is a vector quantity.
