A person weight 60kg. Area under the feet of the person is 240 cm². The pressure exerted the ground by the person (take g 9.8 m/s²)​

We know that the earth pulls the person by a force of mg downwards.

I think the mass is 60 kg not the weight. But, no prblem I will solve both the cases.

(i) If mass is 60kg then

mg=60×9.8= 588N

We know that pressure is the force exerted per unit area.

So P= F/A= 588/0.024 m^2= 24,500 N/m^2

(ii) If weight is 60kg then mg itself is 60N.

P=F/A= 60/0.024 m^2= 2500 N/m^2.
