A person who fired a gun heard an echo three seconds after the gun was fired. How far away was the reflecting surface if the temperature of the air was 27 degree velocity of sound in air at 0 degree is 33 m/s

If the gunshot is heard 2 seconds after firing, the total distance will be 660m. 

The velocity of the sound in the air is about 330m/s. 

Using the formula, speed=distance/time. 

330=d/2 

330*2=d 

660=d 

In this question, echo is not taken into account.
