A person who never drinks alcohol is called a nondrinker, an abstainer or a teetotaler (or teatotaller). The word teetotaler originated in the early nineteenth century; its origin is uncertain. One theory is it is just repeating the T for emphasis (t-total abstainer), similar to saying "I'm a Total abstainer with a capital T."
