In the same vein, I've been playing around with the idea of "maker." Women have long preferred "homemaker" to "housewife," for good reason, because "homemaker" describes at least part of what they actually do—making a house into a clean, provisioned, well-maintained, efficient, attractive, nourishing, and nurturing .
