Answer:

The amount of leaded petrol to be added in the mixture so that the percentage of unleaded petrol becomes 5% will be option  (C) 1000 ml

Step-by-step explanation:

% of unleaded petrol = 10%

=> percentage of leaded petrol = 100 - 10 = 90%

Hence in 1 liter of mixture quantity of leaded petrol = 900 ml

and

in 1 liter of mixture quantity of unleaded petrol = 100 ml

let x ml of leaded petrol is added

amount of mixture = 1000 + x

amount of unleaded petrol = 100

Given that amount of unleaded petrol = 5%

=> 5/100  x (1000 + x) = 100

=> 1000 + x = 2000

=> x = 1000 ml

Hence the amount of leaded petrol to be added in the mixture so that the percentage of unleaded petrol becomes 5% will be option  (C) 1000 ml
