Answer:

The capacity of the petrol  tank is , V = 8316 cm³.

Step-by-step explanation:

SOLUTION :

Given :

Diameter of the Cylinder = 21 cm

Radius of the Cylinder , r = diameter/ 2 = 21/2 = 11.5 cm

Height of the Cylindrical tank  ,H   = 18 cm

Height of the Conical portion of the tank , h  = 9 cm

Total volume of the tank , V  = Volume of the Cylindrical portion + volume of 2 cones

V = πr²H + 2(⅓ × πr²h)

V = πr²(H + ⅔  × h)

V = 22/7 × (21/2)² (18 + ⅔ × 9)

V = 22/7 × 441/4 (18 + 6)

V = (11× 63) /2 × (24)

V = (11× 63) × 12

V = 8316 cm3

Hence,  the capacity of the petrol  tank is  , V = 8316 cm³.

HEY MATE
HERES YOUR ANSWER

here given diameter = 21
so , radius as we know is= r/2
= 21/2 =10.5
length = 18 and breadth = 9
so volume would be = l*b*h
= 10.5*18*9 = 1701
therefore, volume of the tank is 1701
