length of tank = 7 m
its diameter = 3 m
thus its radius = 3/2 m

vol of tank = vol of cylinder = # r^2 h
                                           = 22/ 7 * 3/2 * 3/2* 7
                                           = 11*9/2
                                           = 99/2 m^3

since 1 m^3 = 1000 litres,
 vol of petrol tank = 99/2 * 1000 = 99*500 = 49500 litres of petrol.

A petrol tank is in the form of a cylinder whose diameter is 3m and length is 7m. 49500 litres of petrol can be stored in the petrol tank.

Step-by-step explanation:

Diametre of the tank = 3 m

Radius of the tank = \frac{D}{2}= \frac{3}{2} m

Height of the tank = 7 m

To calculate the capacity of the tank we have to find the volume of the cylindrical tank.

Volume of the cylindrical tank =πr^{2} h

= \frac{22}{7}×(\frac{3}{2} )^{2}×7

= \frac{22}{7}×\frac{3}{2}×\frac{3}{2}×7

= \frac{99}{2}= 49.5 m^3

1 m^3 = 1000 l

49.5 m^3 = 49.5×1000 = 49500 l

Hence, 49500 litres of petrol can be stored in the petrol tank.
