Given : Height of the tree is 12 cm and the ratio of original and enlarged copy is 2:3

To Find : Height of the tree on enlarged copy.

Solution :

The ratio of original and enlarged copy is 2:3.

it means if the height of the tree in original copy is 2, then height of the tree in the enlarged copy will be 3.

Let height of tree in original copy is 2x and in the enlarged copy is 3x .

∵ height of tree in original copy is 12 cm which is given,

so,   2x  = 12 cm

  ∴  x =  \dfrac{12}{2}  cm.

      x = 6 cm.

∴ height of tree in enlarged copy = 3x = 3 × 6 = 18 cm

so, the tree in the enlarged copy is 18 cm tall.
