A photon of 300 nm is absorbed by a gas and then re-emits two photons. One re-remitted photon has wave-
length 500 nm. Calculate energy of other photon re-emitted out.

Answer:

E absorbed=Eemitted

∴hc/300=hc/496+hc/λ

∴λ=759 nm
