Given :

Wavelength of absorbed photon = 300nm

Wavelength of emitted photon A = 496nm

To Find :

We have to find wavelength of emitted photon B.

Solution :

★ Energy associated with a photon in terms of wavelength is given by

  • E = hc/λ

h denotes planck's constant

c denotes speed of light in vacuum

⭆ Absorbed energy = Emitted energy

⭆ E = E(A) + E(B)

⭆ hc/λ = hc/λ₁ + hc/λ₂

⭆ 1/λ = 1/λ₁ + 1/λ₂

⭆ 1/λ₂ = 1/300 - 1/496

⭆ λ₂ = 148800/196

λ₂ = 759 nm

Cheers!
