What is the total distance travelled?
What is the boy’s displacement from P?

GIVEN ;-

⇒A physics teacher walked in four direction -

                                ⇒ North = 2 meter

                                ⇒ South = 2 meter

                                ⇒ East =  4 meter

                                ⇒ West = 4 meter

TO FIND ;-

⇒ What is the total distance travelled?

What is the boy’s displacement from P?

SOL ;-

⇒ Let us first find the total distance travelled by the physics teacher -

⇒ Total. distance travelled = North + South + East + west

                                       ⇒ 2 + 2+ 4 + 4

                                       ⇒ 12 meter

!2 meter is the distance travelled by the physics teacher.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now let us find the displacement of the teacher-

The displacement of the physics teacher is 0 because when the teacher walks towards  2 metre north which gets cancelled when she walks towards 2 metre south ,  and also when she walks 4 meter east so this gets cancelled by 4 meter west ,  so hence her dislacement is 0

total distance  =   4 + 2 + 4 + 2 = 12 meters

displacement = shortest path traised by the particle so we can say that  the particle will reach at its initial position so displacement will be 0
