a piece of chalk can be broken into a small particles on hammering but it is not possible to break a piece of iron in the same fashion why​

bcz iron is a metal.and it is maleable and ductile in nature.thats why it can't be broken into small particles

whereas chalk is no metal that's why it is not ductile nd maleable. so can be broken into small particles
