Step-by-step explanation:

HEY MATE ..

⇒ Let the length of the piece be xm

⇒ Cost price of cloth =Rs.35

⇒ Cost price of 1m cloth =Rs. x /35

According to the question,

⇒ (x+4)( x/ 35 −1)=35

⇒ 35−x+ x / 140 −4=35

⇒ 35x−x ^2 +140−4x=35x

⇒ x ^2 +4x−140=0

⇒ x ^2 +14x−10x−140=0

⇒ x(x+14)−10(x+14)=0

⇒ x(x+14)−10(x+14)=0

⇒ x(x+14)−10(x+14)=0

⇒ (x+14)(x−10)=0

⇒ x+14=0 and x−10=0

2 +14x−10x−140=0

⇒ x(x+14)−10(x+14)=0

⇒ (x+14)(x−10)=0

⇒ x+14=0 and x−10=0

∴ x=−14 and x=10

Length cannot be negative.∴ The length of the piece is 10m.

\huge\mathcal\red{Solution:}

\impliesLet the length of the piece be x

\impliesCost of price = Rs.35

\impliesThen, price per metre = Rs. 35x

\impliesTherefore, (x+4)(35x−1)=35

=> x = 10 rn
