as we know density is equal to mass by volume so the mass of the body is 35 - 22 which is equal to 13 now volume is equal to 13 ml and mass is equal to 106 gram so density is 106 / 13

Tori: and the relative density?

(a) The volume of the copper piece is 13 cubic centimetres

(b) Density of copper is 8.15 gm/cc

(c) Relative density of copper is 8.15

Explanation:

Mass of the copper piece = 106 gm

When the copper piece is immersed completely in water, it raises the level of water in  a measuring cylinder from 22 ml to 35 ml

We know that when a substance is immersed in water it displaces the water equal to the volume of the substance

Therefore, the volume of the copper piece

= 35 ml - 22 ml

= 13 ml

= 13 cubic centimetres

Density of the copper = Mass/Volume

                                     = 106/13

                                     = 8.15 gm/cc

Density of water = 1 gm/cc

Thus, relative density of the copper = 8.15/1 = 8.15

Hope this answer is helpful.
