A piece of ductile metal is in the form of a cylinder of diameter 1 cm and length 5 cm.lt
is drawnout into a wire of diameter 1 mm. What will be the length of the wire so

Given that

Diameter of metal= 1cm

So, its radius=1/2cm or 0.5cm

Its length or height=5cm

Also this metal is drawn into a wire whose

Diameter=1mm= 1/10cm

So, its radius=1/10/2cm or 1/20cm

As we know that

on melting, volume remains same.

So, volume of metal piece = volume of wire

volume of cylinder = volume of cylinder

πR^2H = πr^2h

22/7×(1/2)^2×5 = 22/7×(1/20)^2×h

22/7×1/4×5 = 22/7×1/400×h

110/28 = 22/2800×h

110/28×2800/22=h

5×100=h

h= 500cm.
