Given:

Volume of iron piece,V= 40 cm³

Mass of iron piece,M= 312 g

To Find:

Density of iron piece

Solution:

We know that,

  • \pink{\boxed{\bf{Density=\dfrac{Mass}{Volume}}}}

\rule{190}{1}

Let the density of iron piece be D

So,

\longrightarrow\rm{D=\dfrac{M}{V}}

\longrightarrow\rm{D=\dfrac{312}{40}}

\longrightarrow\rm\green{D=7.8\ g/cm^{3}}

Hence, the density of given iron piece is 7.8 g/cm³.

\rule{190}{1}

Additional Information

Density

Density is defined as the ratio of mass of substance to volume occupied by substance.

Mass

Mass is defined as the amount of matter present in the substance.
