Given :  A piece of metal when immersed in water taken in a Eureka can displaces 20 mL of water. It's mass is 180 g.

To Find  : the density of metal in kgm⁻³

Explanation:

20 mL of water.  = 20 cm³

=> Volume = 20 cm³

mass = 180 g

=> Density =  mass/ volume

=> Density  =  180 / 20  =  9 g/cm³

1 g/cm³   = 1000  kg/m³

=>  Density  =   9000 kg/m³

the density of metal in kgm⁻³    = 9000
