we know, a piece of paper has a low ignition temperture and burning matchstick can produce sufficient heat to reach the ignition temperature of piece of paper.
while log of wood gas high ignition temperature. burning matchstick doesn't produce sufficient amount of heat to reach ignition temperature of log of wood.
that's why we observe , a piece of paper can be lighted by using a matchstick but not a log of wood.
