Answer:

The density is 4

Explanation : As we know the Density = mass / volume.

Here mass of substance is 20 gm and volume of water displaced by the substance us 5 ml ( The density of water is 1 gm/cc).

Formula for density is =

Density = mass / volume

Density of substance = 20/ 5

Hence density of substance is 4

Answer:

For the piece of solid when immersed in water then, water volume increases by 5ml.

thus, volume

of solid= increased volume of water= 5ml= 5/1000L

Also ,mass of the solid = 20g = 20/1000kg

Then for the density of the solid = its mass/ its volume= 20/1000kg/5/1000L

=( 20/5)kg/L

= 4kg/L
