A piece of solid has a mass of 20g. When it is completely immersed in water, the water level rises by 4ml. Determine the density and relative density of the solid.

Explanation:

density = mass/volume

mass=20g

volume=4ml

          =1ml = 1cm^3

          =4ml = 4cm^3

Therfore,

density= 20g/4cm^3

            =5gcm^3
