A piece of solid of mass 20g is immersed in a measuring cylinder.The lev of water in the cylinder rises from 10ml to 20ml.Determine the density of the solid.

mass = 20 g
vol = 20 ml - 10 ml = 10 ml = 10 cm^3. ( 1 ml = 1 cm^3)

density = mass / vol

= 20 / 10 = 2 g/cm^3
