A piece of solid weighs 251g in air and 240g when immersed in a liquid of specific gravity 1.1.Find the volume of solid.

Weight in air = 251 gf

Weight in liquid = 240 gf

Specific Gravity of liquid = 1.1

Density of liquid = 1.1 g/cc

Loss in Weight = (251-240) gf

= 11 gf = Buoyancy

Buoyancy = Vpg

= 11 = [ V * 1.1 * gf ]

= 11 = 1.1V

= 10 cc = Volume
