a piece of stone is thrown vertically upwards. It reaches is the maximum height in 3 seconds. If the acceleration of stone be 9.8 M per second square directed towards the ground, calculate the initial velocity of the stone with which it is thrown upwards.

At the max height the final velocity of stone becomes 0.


t=3 and a=-9.8


V=u+at

Substituting the values,

0=u-gt

U=gt

U=9.8×3

U=29.4m/s
