A piece of stone of mass 15.1 g is first immersed in a liquid and it weighs 10.9gf. Then on immersing the piece of stone in water, it weighs 9.7gf. ... Weight in air = 15.1 gf.

Answer:

Weight in air = 15.1 gf

loss of weight of stone in water = 15.1-9.7 = 5.4gf

hence displaced volume of water = volume of stone 5.4 cc

relative density of stone = mass/volume = 15.1/5.4 - 2.8

loss of weight of stone in liquid = 15.1 - 10.9 = 4.2 gf =

volume of displaced liquid = volume of displaced water = 5.4 c.c weight of displaced liquid = loss of weight of stone in liquid = = 4.2gf

relative density of liquid = mass/volume = 4.2/5.4 0.78
