  A Piece of string is 132 cm long. If the string is used to form
a)  a square, then find the length of each side.
b)  a circle, then find its radius.​

a) we know a square is a shape with 4 equal sides and all angles are right angle.

therefore if the sides are equal,we can equate it as

4x=132

where x is the length of one side

4x=132

x=132/4

x=33

therefore the length of each side is 33cm

b) Given the total length is 132 cm,that is if it's a circle,then it's the circumference of the circle

we know

circumference of the circle=2πr

so equating values

2×π×r=132

we know π=3.14 or 22/7(approx)

so

2×22/7×r=132

44/7×r=132

r=132÷44/7

for dividing a fraction we've to take reciprocal

that is

r =  \frac{132}{1}  \times  \frac{7}{44}  \\  r =  \frac{924}{44}  \\ r = 21

therefore the value of r,

or the radius=21 cm
