Given :

Circumference of a semicircle = 144 cm

To Find : It's Diameter

Solution :

As we know ,

Circumference of a semicircle = πD/2

 \frac{22 \times d}{7 \times 2}  = 144 \\  \frac{11d}{7}  = 144 \\ d =  \frac{144 \times 7}{11}
= 91.6363636

We know that a semicircle is a half circle.

What is a Circle ?

=> A two dimensional closed figure.

In which the distance from the centre to the boundary is always same .

Here ,

Radius = ½Diameter

Diameter = 2 radius

Let take  a  pipe   as  shown in figure whose  length is L

Let that After  bending  it  to form a  semicircle its radius  will be  r,

Semi-Circumference  of the circle will  be  length L

we  known that  Circumference  of   circle is  2πr,

Semi-Circumference  = πr

Given,

L= 144cm

This  will be  equal to semi-Circumference of  circle having  radius  r

L = πr

144=\frac{22}{7}\times r\\\\r=\frac{7\times144}{22}\\\\r=\frac{504}{11}=45.8181\\\\

Diameter of Circle = 2× r = 2×45.8181 = 91.6362 cm
