To Find,

The length of the other piece.

Solution,

Total length of the wire = 21/4 m

Length of one piece = 11/12 m

Length of the other piece = Total length of the wire - Length of first piece

= \dfrac{21}{4}-\dfrac{11}{12}

As the denominators are different, we must take the LCM.

LCM = 12

=\dfrac{63}{12}-\dfrac{11}{12}

=\dfrac{52}{12}

Simplifying the value,

= \dfrac{13}{3}or4.\bar3

∴ Required answer \dfrac{13}{3}or4.\bar3.
