A piece of wire having a resistance of 5ohm is stretched by double it's length.Calculate its new resistance.

it is because resistance is directly proportional to length of wire as,

as we increase length of wire, electrons have to travel larger distance,

so resistance increases with increase in length of the wire.

If length is doubled resistance also gets doubled=2*5

                                                                                  =10 ohm
