A piece of wire in the form of a circle has a radius of 28 cm. It is reshaped into a rectangle of length 50 cm. Calculate the width of the rectangle.

then the circumference = 2πr

=2×722×28

=176cm

Let a be the side of the square,

circumference of circle = perimeter of the square

176=4a

a=4176=44cm

area of square = a2

=442
